Windows 7 Thoughts

Written By: admin on February 26, 2010 25 Comments

go.tagjag.com – I took several live calls the other night, talking to people about Windows 7. Mitchell was one of the callers. He absolutely loves Windows 7. He’s been a Windows user for many years, and never did like Vista. He started using Windows 7 with the very first build, and is now using the RTM via his technet subscription. twitter.com – chris.pirillo.com

    Quite right.

    I’ve installed Win7 on a total of 15 computers so far. One of them was an old-ass single-core Athlon 3200+ PC with 1GB of original DDR Ram and an x1650 card.

    Flawless performance with aero and transparency turned on. It would have benefited from an extra 1GB of RAM, but as it stands, Win7 is the most versatile OS in existence next to Linux

    i gota say win 7 is more than they expected to release! i managed to install it on a computer that has a sticker says Built for Windows XP and this computer was built around 2004. runs almost as well as XP amazing for the computers age!

    @scientist100

    Well it’s mostly with people that happen to have hardware that isn’t compatible with Vista, you may have not have had any issues but others seem to have.

    I personally believe it has something to do with their old crappy computers that don’t support Vista, so NOW they released Windows 7 that is compatible with the most of those old systems. People REALLY need to learn to upgrade….

    …. did you install the drivers?

  5. scientist100 on: 26 February 2010 at 8:52 pm

    Chris’ friend is a totally newbie to computers! I’ve been using Vista for 3 years now and I find it very simple. I really don’t get why people say that they find problems with Vista, anyways stay with what you feel comfortable with.

    Should be in the right-click context menu colintx800. What do you see when you right-click the empty space of a folder? There should be sorting and arranging tools in there.

    I think Windows 7 automatically sorts by alphabetizing the files anyway, so what exactly are you looking for?

    They’re usually the same people who download a strange .EXE file and decide to double-click it without thinking. Or they download a program and breeze through the install process, then wonder why they have 5 toolbars and a browser hijacker screwing up their computer.

    Macs offer limited hardware,poor performance for the price, and are pretty much un-upgradeable. Sure, you can buy the Mac Pro,if you feel like pissing away $3000 for an underperforming garbage can.

    Msg me if you need more info.

    really? a lot of people are praising MAC.

    @Kyuu17

    Ummm, no. Unless you enjoy paying a ton of money for a system that can’t handle games worth shit and is practically dead-ended upon arrival.

    I’ve been using Vista since it came out and i never got any problems with it and i use games and many apps, i don’t know why had so many problems with it…

  21. iStevenT on: 27 February 2010 at 6:49 am

    Yeah! I’m getting Windows 7 Premium maybe tomorrow!

  22. jscornerstone on: 27 February 2010 at 6:57 am

    Windows 7 should have been Vista, but Microsoft was too impatient to release another OS. Vista was horrible at first, it has gotten a lot better, but Windows 7 still kills it in speed, features, etc. Windows XP, Vista, and 7 are all the same price basically, and who would get anything lower than 7? You can use the compaitbility function on software that doesn’t support 7 yet…..It is great and everyone should get it.

  23. iStevenT on: 27 February 2010 at 7:17 am

    I’ve just been trying Windows 7, It’s much faster and better than Vista and a good successor to XP. Anyone agree?

  24. iStevenT on: 27 February 2010 at 7:51 am

    Nah, stick with Windows 7.

  25. Chi7es on: 27 February 2010 at 8:47 am
