Windows 7 Starter Custom Background Wallpaper

Written By: admin on March 26, 2010 25 Comments

This screencast will show you how to easily change your Windows 7 Starter background wallpaper for your netbook.

You need Samurize to get Custom Background Wallpapers on your PC running Windows 7Starter.To install Samurize on windows 7 you need to run in Win XP (SP2) mode. You need to right-click on installation file and select ‘troubleshoot compatibility’ to then run in win xp (sp2) mode. Using Serious Samurize (Samurize.com) you can edit your desktop by embedding an image, text file or widget.

As you may or may not know, Microsoft have restricted the Windows 7 Starter Operating system by forcing you to only have their wallpapers. Their image files have encryption applied to them and therefore you cannot change them by simply replacing the files.

While doing this does work, it seems to slow down everything graphically and puts a load on the cpu if youre moving anything around. Moving the Task Manager around with an overlayed wallpaper, is alot slower than without it.

right click the icon on the taskbar . it should look like a little grey ‘s’ .

  19. BlazedNShot on: 26 March 2010 at 2:11 pm

what do you mean right click the icon?

  20. incredibre on: 26 March 2010 at 2:32 pm

if it comes up covering your desktop icons, yu have to drag it so you can access the icon yu right-clicked.
right click the icon then click on “Position”
then click on “Pin to Desktop”
yu should be able to see your icons.
    hope it helps (:
